10 things Rishi Sunak didn’t mention
Rishi Sunak’s speech was so out of touch he may as well have been living on another planet.
The Liberal Democrats exist to build and safeguard a fair, free and open society, in which we seek to balance the fundamental values of liberty, equality and community, and in which no one shall be enslaved by poverty, ignorance or conformity.
Congleton Liberal Democrats provide an open, liberal voice for your community. We believe in the power of local government as a force for good.
At the local level, we campaign on practical issues that make a difference, whether it is planning issues, local transport, social welfare and health services as well as representing the views of local residents at the unitary authority Cheshire East. We are always open to hear from you on what is most important to you, so please get in touch with us if you have a cause that should be championed. We will always seek to help where we can.
Our Party is growing - we continue to attract increasing numbers of new party members, and new supporters. The 2019 General Election saw us increase our share of the public vote to 11.5% from 7.4% in the previous General Election. In recent by-elections the Liberal Democrat vote has surged to deliver some momumental swings and deliver several more Liberal Democrat MP's to Westminster. It is a good time to join the LIberal Democrats!
In Congleton Constituency we have 10 members who are town or parish councillors and 2 Cheshire East Councillors.
As Liberal Democrats we are working for greener, cleaner and more caring communities. We fight for the critical services our residents deserve. We believe in full transparency, meaningful public consultations and local decision-making wherever possible. We believe in proper funding of public services. If you also believe in these things and want a different way of doing things then join us at www.libdems.org.uk/join-local
We look forward to meeting you.
